Surah Qadar 97: Translation ad best benefits

Surah Qadar is the 97th surah of the Quran and is a Meccan surah with 5 verses. As the name of this surah suggests, it refers to the revelation of the holy Quran on the night of Qadar and then describe the importance of the night of the Qadar and its blessings.

The order of this surah is not important. It is known among commentators as the Makki Surah, although some believe that it was revealed in Medina. According to a tradition, the Prophet saw in a dream that the Umayyads were climbing his pulpit.

Such a dream was disturbing to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he disliked it. Then Surah Qadar was revealed to console them. (So some believe that the verse: “The night of Qadar is better than a thousand months” refers to the period of Umm’s rule, which was about a thousand months.) And we know that mosques and minbars were established. Formed in Medina, not Mecca.

But as stated above, the surah is called Makki and this tradition may be a type of application, not an occasion of revelation.
