Snapora 1.1.0 · Last updated 14 October 2026
In short: Snapora has no account of its own and no server. What you capture is made and stored in your browser. Snapora talks to the internet only to check a Pro licence key, if you have one, and to send the files you choose to your own Google Drive or Dropbox, if you connect one on Pro.
Who we are
Snapora is a Chrome extension made by WaaFaa. You can reach us at waafaaofficial@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Your screenshots, recordings, projects and exports.
- Your settings, templates and watermark.
- Text recognition: it uses Chrome’s own built-in model (Chrome 138 or later on Windows, macOS or Linux), which runs on your device. Chrome, not Snapora, downloads that model.
All of this lives in your browser’s own extension storage. We cannot see it. Removing Snapora removes it.
What leaves your device
Nothing, on the free plan. Snapora has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
If you activate Pro, Snapora sends your licence key, a random ID for
this browser install and the name of your operating system (for example “Snapora on
macOS”) to Freemius (api.freemius.com), the store that sells Pro, to
check that the key is valid. It checks again from time to time so a renewal or
cancellation is noticed, and about once an hour, while Snapora is open, it asks
Freemius which browsers hold your key: one key works in one browser at a time, so a
browser where you activated the key later takes over Pro. Nothing you have captured is
sent.
When you buy Pro, you pay on Freemius’s own checkout page. What you enter there is covered by Freemius’s privacy policy.
Cloud sync (Pro, optional)
Cloud sync sends an export to your own cloud storage. It is off until you press Connect in Settings → Cloud and sign in on the provider’s own page. Until then Snapora makes no request to Google Drive or Dropbox. Files go straight from your browser to the provider, never through a Snapora server, and there is no Snapora account.
Once you connect a provider:
-
Google Drive — Snapora asks only for the
drive.filepermission, so it can see and change only the files it created itself. It reads your email address to show which account is connected. Files go into aSnaporafolder, each tagged with a random id so a retry is never uploaded twice. -
Dropbox — Snapora uses an App folder, so it can reach only
its own folder under
Apps. It reads your email address to show which account is connected.
Only the files you send go to the provider: when you press Send, or when you turn on automatic sending for that provider. Every file is saved on your computer first. The sign-in token stays in your browser’s own storage and is never sent anywhere else.
Snapora’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting. Settings → Cloud → Disconnect deletes the sign-in from your browser and withdraws Snapora’s access. You can also withdraw it yourself: Google at myaccount.google.com/connections, Dropbox under Settings → Connected apps. Files you already sent stay in your storage until you delete them. Nothing on your computer is deleted.
Permissions, and why
-
activeTab,scripting— capture the tab you click on. -
Site access (
<all_urls>) — capture several pages at once, which means opening pages you have not clicked on. Snapora adds nothing to pages you browse; it touches a tab only when you start a capture or recording. -
tabCapture, desktopCapture, offscreen— record a tab, a window or your screen. -
storage, unlimitedStorage— keep your projects and recordings on your device. downloads— save your exports.contextMenus— the right-click capture menu.-
identity— opens Google’s or Dropbox’s own sign-in window when you press Connect in Settings → Cloud. Nothing else uses it.
Children
Snapora collects no personal data from anyone, including children. The cloud account email it shows stays on your device.

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and anything new about data will be said here before it ships.
