Make a PDF smaller without sending it anywhere. Drop the file in, press Compress, and download the result. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.
How to do it
- Drop your PDF onto the box, or choose it from your device.
- Press Compress. There is nothing to set: the tool works at one balanced setting, chosen to save real space without visibly damaging the pages.
- Download the smaller file.
Questions
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends entirely on what is inside it. A PDF full of scanned pages or phone photos often loses more than half its size, because the pictures are what the file mostly is. A text-only document produced by a word processor may barely change — there was never much to remove. The tool shows the before and after figures so you can see what actually happened.
Will the text still be selectable?
Yes. Text is not touched. Compression works on the images inside the document, so anything you could select and search before is still selectable and searchable afterwards.
Is there a file size limit?
The practical limit is your browser’s memory rather than a rule we set. Very large documents — several hundred megabytes — can run out of room, and the tool will say so rather than failing silently. Splitting a huge file first usually works.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, though a phone has far less memory to work with than a laptop, so large files are more likely to hit that ceiling.
