Clean up text pasted from a PDF, a chat window or an AI assistant — invisible characters, odd spaces, curly quotes and stray blank lines. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.
How to do it
- Paste the messy text in.
- Tick what you want removed. The first three are on by default because they are the ones that cause real problems.
- Copy the clean version out.
Questions
What does it actually change?
By default: invisible characters, text-direction controls, and unusual spaces such as the non-breaking space — which becomes an ordinary space rather than disappearing. Everything else, including replacing curly quotes with straight ones, is optional and off, because those are editorial choices rather than cleanup.
Why is my pasted text full of non-breaking spaces?
Word processors and web pages use them to stop lines breaking in awkward places. They look identical to ordinary spaces and behave differently — most obviously, code that splits text on spaces will not split on them.
Does it change the words?
No. Nothing visible is removed. Every character in the default set is either invisible or a formatting control, and none of them changes what the text says.
