Crop Image

Crop an image to a shape or an exact size in your browser, choosing which part of the picture to keep. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Drop your image onto the box.
  2. Pick a shape — square, 16:9, 4:5 — or type an exact size.
  3. Choose which part of the picture to keep, then download.

Questions

How do I crop to a shape without picking a size?

Choose the shape and the size fills itself in with the largest crop of that shape your image allows. You can still change the numbers afterwards.

Which part gets kept?

The centre, unless you choose otherwise. A crop has to lose something, so there are nine positions — the corners, the edges and the middle — and the page says how much of the picture each one throws away.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It is read and redrawn in your browser. There is no upload endpoint to send it to.
