Base64 Encode

Encode any text to Base64 in your browser — including emoji, Bangla, Arabic and Chinese, which most Base64 tools cannot handle. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Paste or type your text.
  2. Read the encoded result underneath.
  3. Press Copy.

Questions

Why do other Base64 tools break on my text?

Because they wrap the browser’s btoa function, which encodes bytes rather than text and throws an error on any character above U+00FF. This page encodes your text to UTF-8 first and then encodes those bytes, which is what every server-side library does — so the result matches what your backend will produce.

What is the URL-safe option?

Standard Base64 uses + and /, which have meanings inside a URL. The URL-safe alphabet uses - and _ instead and drops the padding. It is what JWTs use.

Is Base64 encryption?

No, and this matters. Base64 is an encoding, not a cipher — anybody can decode it in one step. Never use it to hide anything.
