HTML to PDF

Turn HTML into a PDF in your browser. Text, headings and lists are laid out and paginated. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Paste your HTML, or drop the .html file onto the box.
  2. Give the document a title.
  3. Make the PDF and download it.

Questions

What does the layout support?

Headings, paragraphs, lists including nested ones, block quotes, code blocks and horizontal rules — laid out in one column and paginated, with a heading never left alone at the foot of a page. Tables become their rows as lines of text, because this layout has no grid.

Why are my images missing?

Because including them would mean fetching whatever the document points at, and nothing in this plugin makes a network request. That is the same rule that keeps your file from being uploaded, and it is not worth relaxing for one feature.

Can I convert a web page by giving you its address?

No, and for the same reason. Fetching a URL is a network request; this plugin has a build check that refuses any network code in a tool, and a security policy that would block the request anyway. Copy the page’s HTML and paste it instead.

Will my language render?

The fonts are the standard ones every PDF reader already has, which keeps the file small and means it opens anywhere — but they cover the Latin alphabet. Text in other scripts will not come out right, and characters they cannot draw are replaced rather than failing the whole export.
