Instagram Line Breaks

Make blank lines survive an Instagram caption, so the spacing you wrote is the spacing that posts. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Write or paste your caption with the line breaks you want.
  2. Press nothing — the spaced version appears underneath as you type.
  3. Copy it and paste it into Instagram.

Questions

Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?

Instagram collapses lines that contain nothing. A blank line between paragraphs is empty, so it goes, and a carefully spaced caption posts as one block.

What does this actually add?

One invisible character on each otherwise-empty line. The line is no longer empty, so it survives — and the character has no shape, so nobody sees it.

Which character does it use?

The invisible separator, U+2063. Most guides suggest a zero-width space instead, which also works visually but is treated as a word boundary — it can split a word for search engines and make a screen reader pause mid-sentence. The separator does neither.

Can I undo it?

Yes. There is a button to take the characters back out, and running the same text through twice will not add them twice.
