LinkedIn Bullet Points

Turn lines into a bulleted list that LinkedIn cannot strip, because the bullets are ordinary text rather than formatting. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Put each item on its own line.
  2. Pick a bullet character.
  3. Copy the list and paste it into your post.

Questions

Why does LinkedIn not have bullet points?

The post editor has no list formatting at all, and formatting pasted from a word processor is discarded. The established workaround is to use a bullet character, which is just text and so cannot be stripped.

Will it work anywhere else?

Yes. The output is plain text, so it works in any post, message, bio or comment box anywhere — including the places that do support lists.

What if my lines already have dashes?

A line starting with -, * or + is converted rather than given a second marker, so pasting a Markdown list works. Lines that already start with a bullet are left alone.

Can I take the bullets off again?

Yes, there is a button for it.
