JSON to CSV

Turn a JSON array into a spreadsheet you can open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Nested values become dotted columns so they stay sortable. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Paste a JSON array of objects — one object per row.
  2. Press Convert to CSV.
  3. Press Copy, or paste the result straight into a spreadsheet.

Questions

What shape does my JSON need to be?

An array of objects, where each object is a row. A single object works too and gives one row. An array of plain values has no columns, so it cannot become a table.

What happens to nested objects?

They become dotted columns — user.name, user.email — because those are what a spreadsheet can sort and filter on. A list of simple values stays in one cell, separated by semicolons, rather than being spread over columns that change from row to row.

What if my records have different fields?

Every field that appears anywhere becomes a column, and rows that lack it get an empty cell. Taking the first record as the shape would silently drop the rest.
