Social Post Preview

See where each platform cuts your post off in the feed — which is not where the character limit is — and what each one does to your line breaks. Your file never leaves this page. Everything happens in your browser, and there is no upload endpoint to send it to — that is checked by a build gate that fails if any network code reaches a tool’s bundle.

How to do it

  1. Type or paste your post.
  2. Read how each platform will show it, with the cut-off drawn where it falls.
  3. Fix what is hidden, and publish.

Questions

Isn’t this the same as the character counter?

No, and the difference is the whole point. The counter tells you the limit — the most a platform will accept. This tells you the fold — where the feed stops showing your post behind a “see more”. LinkedIn accepts 3,000 characters and shows about 210. Counting against every platform’s limit is free, on the Character Counter page.

Why did my line breaks disappear?

Because LinkedIn removes blank lines from a pasted post and Instagram collapses consecutive newlines. The preview shows you what they will do, and the free line-break tool has the workaround.

Are these cut-off points exact?

They are observed, not published, and they move. Each is shown with the month it was last checked, because a tool that states them as fact is stating something it cannot support.
