Privacy: where your data lives

These are our promises. They are also in the privacy policy.

  • Your chats stay on your computer. They are stored in your browser. We have no server that receives them.
  • No account needed. Everything except Pro works without signing up.
  • No tracking, no analytics, no ads. The extension sends no usage data.
  • AI is optional and uses your own key. Without a key, nothing is sent. With one, only the chats you ask about go to the provider you chose. See Use AI with your own key.
  • Your data is yours. Export everything as Markdown, JSON or HTML at any time, for free.

When does anything leave your computer?

Only when you ask for it. If you press an AI button with your own key, that chat goes to your AI provider. If you enter a Pro licence key, the key is checked with our payment partner, Freemius. If you open a pricing or help link, your browser visits our website. That is all. Read the full list in the privacy policy.

Where is the vault?

Inside Chrome, on this computer, in the storage that belongs to the extension. You can see how much it uses in Settings, then Storage. If you remove the extension, Chrome deletes that storage. That is why a backup file is a good idea.
